What is CUDE?

Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) Program is a program of the National Credit Union Foundation to bring renewed relevance to the philosophy of "People Helping People." This unique and transformative training provides critical lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy and international development issues while incorporating challenges credit unions face today. 

During the week long training, participants are involved in group exercises, field trips, encouraged to ask questions of visiting speakers, and are required to complete team projects proposing solutions for credit unions to help alleviate or eliminate challenging situations in any given area. 

Who is eligible? 

This program is ideal for credit unions staff and/ or volunteers who have demonstrated through their actions their passion and commitment to credit unions. As such, the applicant criteria is as follows:

• Applicant is an employee or volunteer at a Louisiana credit union;
• Applicants must be actively involved in credit union activities; Examples include regular participation in chapter meetings, committee work, credit union activism, etc.
• Applicant has the endorsement of their Supervisor and/or CEO

What is included?

The scholarship covers registration for the in-person DE training. Registration covers most lunches and dinners. (All travel expenses to and from program, hotel accommodations, breakfasts, as well as incidentals while at the training are the responsibility of the credit union or applicant.) Scholarship is not eligible for virtual training.

Two scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship will be awarded to a member of Luminate's Young Professionals Network (YPN) and the second scholarship will go to a credit union professional that is not a member of YPN.
