The Global District Energy Climate Awards (GDECA) celebrate best-in-class solutions that drive sustainable district heating and cooling, showcasing cutting-edge technologies, outstanding projects, and forward-thinking communities.

Over the past 16 years and 9 successful editions, GDECA has become a premier international platform that highlights exceptional achievements in district energy systems. The 2027 edition promises to continue this proud tradition – and we are thrilled to invite you to take part!

Award Categories

For the purposes of these Awards, the term District Energy (DE) shall be understood to encompass both district heating and cooling systems and solutions. Accordingly, submissions relating to either or both applications fall within the scope of the Awards.

We recognise excellence across four diverse categories:

• Emerging District Energy Market

Submitting your entry is simple:

1. Create your account on our awards platform.

2. Select the category that fits your project.

3. Complete and submit the online application form.

The deadline for entries is 22 January 2027.

Winners will be celebrated at the Awards Ceremony, taking place 8-9 July 2027  in Bangkok, Thailand​​​​, hosted by the Asia Pacific Urban Energy Association (APUEA). Mark your calendars and plan to join us for this exciting event!

N.B. Travel and accommodation costs for attending the GDECA ceremony are the responsibility of the winners.
