This milestone event marks four decades of CHOA’s service to Alberta’s heavy oil sector and is themed Legacy in Motion: 40 Years of Pioneers, Innovators & Influencers. The evening will bring together senior executives, innovators, policymakers, and emerging leaders to recognize those who have shaped Canada’s heavy oil industry and to celebrate the next generation carrying that legacy forward.

As part of the program, CHOA will have the opportunity to recognize leaders from Alberta’s major oil sands producers—including Cenovus Energy, Canadian Natural Resources Limited, and Suncor Energy—as well as leading technology developers whose advancements have helped position Canadian heavy oil as the most sustainable barrel of oil globally. The awards will honour pioneers who built the industry’s foundation, innovators who elevated performance and environmental standards, and rising leaders whose influence will define the future.
