OFFICIAL AWARDS BRIEF & ENTRY GUIDELINES
1. OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVES
The Malaysian Interior Industry Partners (MIIP) Interior Industry Awards 2026 celebrate outstanding achievements and professional excellence within the interior built environment landscape. Guided by the theme "Beyond the Surface," the awards honor dedication to superior craftsmanship, high-quality material applications, and innovative execution.
The primary objectives of the awards program are:
- To Honor Outstanding Members: Recognize MIIP members—including interior designers, fit-out contractors, and specialized craftsmen—whose exceptional contributions enrich design, construction, flawless installations, and the strategic utilization of interior materials.
- To Showcase Unparalleled Achievements: Highlight projects matching the highest benchmarks of commercial excellence. These accomplishments elevate the built environment while fostering meaningful, positive impacts on the social, physical, and cultural fabric of communities.
2. KEY PROGRAM TIMELINE

3. PARTICIPATION & ELIGIBILITY
- Membership Requirement: Participation is open exclusively to active, registered corporate or individual members of the Malaysian Interior Industry Partners (MIIP).
- Eligible Project Window: Projects submitted for consideration must have been fully completed between 1June 2024 and 30 May 2026.
- Submission Volume: Member companies are entitled to submit one or multiple entries across any of the established award categories.
- Evaluation Basis: All submissions will be evaluated rigorously based on the documentation submitted and verified under the guidelines authorized by the MIIP Awards Organizing Committee.
- Entry Fee: RM 800 per entry (applicable for members only). Entries will be disqualified automatically if full payment is not successfully cleared before the official closing date.
4. AWARD CATEGORIES & SUBMISSION SPECIFICATIONS
Each award category carries distinct criteria. Applicants must provide comprehensive dossiers corresponding to their entry type:
Category 1: Completed Fit-Out Projects
Targeted for participation by professional Fit-Out Contractors. Required technical and administrative items:
- Client’s Project Brief and Design Rationale (Strict limit: One-page write-up format).
- 3D Rendering Visualizations & High-Resolution Photographs of completed works, matching professional captions.
- Letter of Award (PDF) clearly detailing the full Scope of Works commissioned to the appointed vendor or contracting firm.
- Layout Plans, Sectional Views, and relevant technical architectural drawings supporting the Design Rationale and presentation.
- Comprehensive Material Schedule: Detailed list of builders, suppliers, specific materials, fittings, and furnishings validating execution.
- Project Execution Timeline (Scheduled vs. Actual completion).
- Company Corporate Profile (PDF format).
- Bank Transfer Payment Slip confirming entry fee clearance.
Category 2: Innovative and Creative Application of Materials (Completed Installations)
- Wall Coverings & Soft Furnishing – Wall coverings and cladding: Veneer laminate, stone, artificial materials, acoustic panels.
- Flooring – Vinyl, carpet, timber, stone and more.
- Decorative & Architectural Lighting – Ceiling lights, table lamps, chandeliers & others.
- Fitments/ Fixtures & Sculptures – Parts, Accessories, Hardware & more
Category 3: Product Excellence
- Furniture – bathroom, living room, bedroom & office furniture
- Fittings & Fixtures – Windows & Doors, sanitary fittings & accessories, furniture fittings, cable management systems, architectural products & others.
- Sustainable green products – innovative, recycled, energy efficient products
- Consumer products – lighting/ decorative materials/ leisure products/ home essentials
Category 4: Environment, Health & Safety Management (EHS)
Focuses on compliance, operations, and safety standards within interior fit-outs and manufacturing facilities:
- Safety & Health and Environmental Policy / Action Plan encompassing: Working at heights, electricity safeguards, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, noise control, and dust control protocols.
- Subcontractor Appointment Policy and structured frameworks for protecting the public adjacent to operational sites.
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) preservation guidelines and Waste Management programs.
- Safety Awareness & Implementation Program records.
- Supporting Operational Photographs: High-quality site or factory operational photos accompanied by descriptive captions.
- Factory Sub-Category Requirements: Scheduled maintenance programs, operational logs, and clear instructions for machinery and tools.
- Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) structured records (Optional but highly recommended).
- Records detailing worker welfare provisions and facilities.
Category 5: Student – Interior Product Design
Open to active Malaysian Students only. Required creative submission dossier:
- Design Concept and Design Rationale (Strictly formatted as a one-page write-up in PDF).
- 3D Overall Perspective View capturing the design from its optimal aesthetic and functional angle (PDF).
- Technical Drawings / 3D Detail Views including integrated text annotations clarifying specific functional details and material finishes (PDF).
- Ortho Projections: Comprehensive top views and full elevations from all 4 sides detailing exact millwork dimensions.
- Explanation of proposed construction and assembly techniques.
- Valid Student Identity Card verifying enrollment in a recognized academic institution.
5. JUDGING PANEL & CRITERIA RULES
- Panel Composition: The evaluation panel consists of industry-leading, highly recognized professionals possessing extensive technical expertise, nominated and officially approved by the MIIP Awards Organizing Committee.
- Discretionary Awards: The judging panel reserves full rights to confer multiple awards and/or commendations within any given category, or to completely withhold awards/commendations where entries do not meet quality benchmarks.
- Benchmark Exceptions: If, in the judges’ definitive assessment, no submission within a designated category meets the minimum required benchmark of institutional excellence, no award shall be presented for that category.
6. STEP-BY-STEP SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Submissions must follow the unified digital pathway outlined below:
- Account Creation: Visit the official Judgify awards management platform at www.judgify.me/MIIPawards2026 (or the direct sub-portal /MIIPawards2026) to create an authorized user profile.
- Entry Registration: Select the target category, fill in mandatory metadata fields, and systematically upload the specified supporting PDFs, drawings, and image assets.
- Bank Fee Transfer: Execute a direct wire or bank transfer matching the cumulative entry fees to the following verified account:

• Account Holder Name: Malaysian Interior Industry Partners Association
• Account Number: 2583056906 - Payment Verification: Upload a high-resolution, legible digital copy of the Bank Transfer Payment Slip directly to your Judgify entry form area.
- Organiser Confirmation: Upon successful document audit and transaction verification, applicants will receive an official digital acceptance receipt email.
- Completion: Once marked accepted, the award submission dossier is formally locked and queued for judging evaluation panels.
7. LEGAL TERMS & REGULATORY CONDITIONS
- Copyright Compliance: All material, imagery, blueprints, and text submitted for the MIIP Awards must fully comply with the applicable copyright laws of Malaysia. Any intellectual property infringement, in any form, will result in immediate disqualification.
- Organiser Amendment Rights: MIIP, as the primary Organiser, reserves full, unchallengeable rights to amend, revise, or update the operational terms, conditions, schedules, or timelines of the MIIP Interior Industry Awards at its sole discretion, as deemed necessary to fulfill organizational goals.
- Publicity & Media Consent: The Organiser reserves the absolute right to utilize company names, personnel nicknames, submitted photographs, video clips, audio tracks, and detailed presentation materials of winners for publicity, commercial advertising, promotional reels, and trade purposes across any media channel globally, without prior written consent or financial compensation.
- Limitation of Liability: The Organiser shall not be held liable, legally or financially, for any unforeseen circumstances, scheduling disruptions, force majeure elements, or events beyond its reasonable control affecting the judging execution, timing, or awards process.
- Event Management: MIIP reserves the right to final determine the precise date, time format, and venue of the official presentation and gala dinner at its standalone discretion.
- Refund Policy: All entry fees paid are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under any operational or standard circumstances.
