The Vanguard Awards 2026 at The Revenue Room™ Salon

October 6, 2026 | The Yale Club, New York City

The Vanguard Awards 2026: Category Descriptions

The Vanguard Awards recognize senior women leaders and eligible organizations producing measurable business impact across media,  publishing, broadcast and cable, events, data and information services, marketplaces, associations, professional communities, entertainment, and sports. The 2026 program includes two committee-selected honors and five competitive awards open for nomination.

CEO Vanguard Award

Committee-selected honor. Not open for nomination.
The CEO Vanguard Award recognizes a current CEO, Founder/CEO, President/CEO, or equivalent enterprise leader whose vision and leadership are redefining the future of her company and the broader industry.

We are looking for a leader who has delivered meaningful business performance, led significant transformation, built strong teams, and influenced how the industry thinks about growth, innovation, data, AI, product, audience, or business-model change. The strongest honorees combine strategic vision with measurable results, disciplined execution, industry influence, and a reputation for leadership and integrity.

Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award

Committee-selected honor. Not open for nomination.

The Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an extraordinary woman whose career has made an enduring contribution to journalism, editorial leadership, and the public value of trusted information.

We are looking for a content leader who has consistently championed journalism in its truest sense: rigorous reporting, editorial independence, accuracy, integrity, accountability, and meaningful storytelling. She should also understand the commercial realities required to sustain high-quality journalism, including audience development, product innovation, revenue models, organizational resilience, and long-term business viability.

The strongest honorees have protected the standards and purpose of journalism while helping the organizations behind it adapt, grow, and remain relevant. Their legacy is reflected not only in the content and institutions they have shaped, but also in the journalists, editors, creators, and future leaders they have developed and supported.

Competitive Awards Open for Nomination

Vanguard Award for Revenue Leadership

The Vanguard Award for Revenue Leadership recognizes a senior female commercial leader who has materially strengthened the performance and long-term value of their organization.

We are looking for a female leader who has delivered measurable results through revenue growth, profitability, margin improvement, retention, expansion, pricing, recurring revenue, customer lifetime value, sales productivity, revenue diversification, or go-to-market transformation. Strong nominations will show what the nominee personally led, the commercial or organizational challenge she addressed, how she aligned teams around the strategy, and how the results will be sustained or scaled.

This award is not limited to top-line growth. It recognizes disciplined commercial leadership that improves the quality, resilience, and durability of the business.

Vanguard Award for Data & AI Leadership

The Vanguard Award for Data & AI Leadership recognizes a female senior leader who has turned data, analytics, intelligence, or AI into measurable enterprise value.

We are looking for a female leader who has moved their organization beyond isolated dashboards, experiments, or pilots and built a capability that improves decisions, operations, customer value, growth, product performance, or competitive advantage. Strong nominations will show the business problem addressed, what the nominee personally led, how they drove adoption across the organization, what governance and trust controls were established, and what measurable results were achieved.

The strongest entries will demonstrate responsible deployment, cross-functional adoption, operational durability, and a clear path to scale.

Vanguard Award for Marketing Leadership

The Vanguard Award for Marketing Leadership recognizes a female senior marketing leader whose work has materially improved brand position, audience growth, demand generation, customer engagement, and commercial performance.

We are looking for a leader who has used data, AI, customer insight, technology, or a new operating model to strengthen marketing’s contribution to the business. Strong nominations will demonstrate measurable impact on pipeline, revenue, acquisition, retention, subscriptions, sponsorship, audience monetization, or customer value, along with the nominee’s personal leadership and cross-functional influence.

Impressions, clicks, followers, opens, traffic, and content volume are not sufficient on their own. The strongest entries connect marketing activity to meaningful business outcomes and show that the resulting capability can be sustained.

Vanguard Award for Product Innovation Leadership

The Vanguard Award for Product Innovation Leadership recognizes a female senior product leader who has created, launched, or scaled a customer-facing product that delivers measurable customer and commercial value.

We are looking for a female leader who identified a meaningful customer problem or market opportunity, validated the need, led the product strategy and execution, and brought the product successfully into the market. Strong nominations will demonstrate real customer use, adoption, retention, engagement, revenue, margin, or other measurable outcomes, as well as the nominee’s role in managing trade-offs, aligning teams, and improving the company’s competitive position.

The nominated product must be live, available to real customers, and producing measurable results. Internal tools should be submitted under Data & AI Leadership rather than Product Innovation Leadership.

Best AI Agent Award

The Best AI Agent Award recognizes the most effective, original, and commercially valuable AI agent deployed by an eligible company.

We are looking for a named AI agent that operates within a real business workflow, interprets inputs, makes decisions, uses tools or systems, and completes defined actions with some level of autonomy. The strongest entries will demonstrate meaningful production use, active adoption, measurable impact, responsible oversight, and a clear path to further scale.

Eligible agents may support revenue, marketing, product, content, events, data, operations, customer success, finance, or executive decision-making. The agent must have been in production for at least 60 days and must show evidence such as active users, production volume, autonomy rate, human-review rate, business outcomes, and accuracy or exception performance.

A chatbot, prompt library, static automation, recommendation-only tool, roadmap, or pilot does not qualify unless it performs real actions within an operating workflow. Best AI Agent is a company award tied to the nominated agent and its executive sponsor or leader.

Up to three finalists may be selected in each competitive category. Winners will be revealed live at The Revenue Room™ Salon.
