About the WAFA Awards

WAFA honors outstanding initiatives that are building a more secure, sustainable future - one winner recognized in each of our four award categories:

• Water - initiatives advancing conservation, purification, and sustainable water management
• Air - innovations improving air quality and reducing pollution in communities
• Food - efforts expanding access to food and advancing food equity
• Youth Climate - environmental solutions led by changemakers under the age of 30

Each year, we look for initiatives that go beyond good intentions - ones that demonstrate real sustainability, genuine innovation, and measurable impact on the people and places they serve. Our review process looks closely at how an initiative empowers local communities, how replicable its approach is elsewhere, and how it can scale to reach even more people in the years ahead.
